Snow Leopard Pencil Drawing in Progress

The last few days I have been working hard on my new snow leopard drawing. It’s going to be a bigger drawing than usual. This one will be 18 x 24 inches. A big close up of his face. I’m having a lot of fun with it.

Happy New Year!

I’m really looking forward to making this new year a truly wonderful one. I want to make a lot of new drawings and I also want to make a lot more educational videos about autism.
With my drawings I always want to try to support good causes that help animals. I am a huge animal lover, and I deeply care about the wellbeing of animals. A wonderful example of an organization that truly makes a difference in this world for wildlife is Chengeta Wildlife. They help African wildlife by training rangers to protect wildlife against poachers. My goal with my drawings is to keep supporting them with their great work, and I hope to be able to do that a lot more this year.
But I also have always cared about the wellbeing of other people too. Since I was a little Remrov I was often thinking about ways to make this world a better place and how to help other people. As a 5 year old I even wanted to put my sandwich into the mailbox to send it to hungry people in Africa. My mind has always been busy with trying to find ways how to make life better for other people. Years ago I realized that I can’t change the whole world all by myself. But I can do my share. I can share the things I know about to help other people. And that’s why I started my video project ‘Educational and Inspirational Videos About Autism‘. As a person with classic autism looking back at my past, I see a lot of situations where people with autism, and even people without autism, shouldn’t have to go through. With my videos I want to help create a more autism-friendly world.
I started my video project in October last year. Until now I have made 11 videos about topics including school, work, meltdowns, sensory issues and eye contact. I have a whole list of topics ready for new videos.
I’m very happy to see my project growing and reaching more people. I have received a lot of positive feedback from people who were really helped by my videos which truly encourages me. In the last 3 months I already have 22 Patrons who support me monthly with my project. I’m very thankful to those people because they make sure I can keep on doing this, since my drawings and this video project is the only income I have. My goal for this year is to keep improving my videos and to help and to reach more and more people.
I have also decide to expand my audience a bit. The topics I plan to make videos about can help many people with autism, but actually also people without autism.
I wish everybody a wonderful New Year, full of love, friendship, success, laughter, and everything else you wish 🙂

Cape Buffalo Pencil Drawing

The last few weeks I have been working on a new pencil drawing, and this time a Cape Buffalo. The drawing took me in total around 90 hours and I had lots of fun with it. I find Cape buffalos very characteristic because of their strong bodies and their big horns.

The original is listed for sale on my website: Remrov’s Artwork

And prints are also available on Fine Art America 🙂

I donate part of the proceeds to Chengeta Wildlife, an awesome organization that fights against the poaching of African wildlife.

How Autism Effects my Art

Besides making photorealistic pencil drawings I also make videos in which i share my experiences as a person with classic autism. My goal of these videos is to teach people about autism from the perspective of a person on the inside. I explain how things work in an autistic mind and give advice about how a more autism-friendly situation can be created. My passion is to build a bridge in between the autistic and neurotypical worlds, and to be a voice for non-verbal people with autism.

Now I have published a video about how autism effects my art. In this video I share more about the process of making a coloured pencil drawing of my little feathered friend Pilaf, who’s also registered as my therapy/help animal.

I hope you enjoy it and find it useful.

Remrov’s World of Autism YouTube Channel

In one of my previous posts I wrote about my project ‘Educational Videos About Autism’ in which I share my experiences as an autistic person. My goal of these videos is to help other people with autism and their families and to raise awareness and understanding about autism.

When I look at my past I see a lot of situations which autistic people shouldn’t have to go through, if only there were more awareness and understanding. So I want to build a bridge in between the autistic and neurotypical worlds and to help create a society in which autistic people can thrive. I also hope to be a voice for non-verbal people with autism.

In addition to my Patreon page where I publish all my videos, I also created a YouTube channel where I share my videos which are free for everybody to watch. Please subscribe to my channel if you are interested to learn more about autism from an autistic person.

Pencil Drawing of my Little Feathered Friend

The last few weeks I have been working on a new drawing. This time a coloured pencil drawing of my sweet little feathered friend Pilaf. I do not work with coloured pencil very often so it was quite a new challenge for me. But I also had lots of fun with it. Pilaf and I are already together for 16 years, and he’s actually registered as my help/therapy animal. He has helped me a lot with challenges I face as a person with classic autism.

Prints of my drawing are available on Fine Art America in many different kinds and sizes. Even though my drawing is very special to me, it’s my little feathered friend after all, I might also consider selling the original.

Educational Videos About Autism

For quite a while I have been busy with a new project. I have been making videos about my life experiences as a person with classic autism, and I explain how things work in an ‘autistic mind’. And I also give advice about how a better situation could have been created for a person with autism. I’m going to make videos about many different topics related to autism. My goal of these videos is to raise awareness, and to teach people about autism from a person who’s on the ‘inside’. I want to build a bridge between the autistic and neurotypical worlds, and I also hope to be a voice for non-verbal people with autism.

I share the videos on a website called Patreon where people can experience them for as less as a dollar per month. Every now and then I will also post videos which are free for everybody to watch, like the first introduction video which I posted today.

Bald Eagle Drawing Finished

There are people who think of my autism as a handicap, or an illness. And they say I need to get well. I don’t see it like that. My brain is just wired differently. There are things which are very difficult for me, and even things which I can’t do because I have autism. But there are definitely also things which I wouldn’t be able to do if I didn’t have autism.

Making Progress with my Rhino Drawing

The last week I haven’t been able to do much drawing due to a corneal ulcer. Last Wednesday my eye felt like somebody had poured sulphuric acid in it, and I went straight to the emergency room. Fortunately after taking some eyedrops with an antibiotic, and some painkillers for a few days it’s healing really well and I’m back to the drawing board again. Today I have been able to make quite some progress with my rhino pencil drawing.
